The 1996 King of the Ring ended with Stone Cold Steve Austin victorious over Jake “The Snake” Roberts. As Stone Cold was being interviewed following the match, he uttered a line that meant nothing at the time but would forever alter the landscape of professional wrestling: “Austin 3:16 says I just whipped your ass!”

From that, two things were born—Stone Cold’s ascent to megastardom, and the most popular wrestling t-shirt of all time. And that’s the bottom line, CAUSE STONE COLD SAID SO.
