While UConn used versions of this wordmark and logo through the late '90s and 2000s, it's best associated with the championship-winning 2001-02 women's team. Led by the now-winningest coach in college basketball, Geno Auriemma, UConnfielded one of the strongest starting fives in women’s college basketball history. Sue Bird, Swin Cash, Asjha Jones, Diana Taurasi and Tamika Williams led the Huskies to their third NCAA national championship with a perfect 39-0 record.
