A slightly grumpy version of the Idaho Vandal debuted in the 1940s, about a decade before the “Joe Vandal” mascot tradition took shape in the ‘50s. Eventually, in 1967, this more cheerful Joe Vandal debuted. Set on a retro trucker hat, he's bound to put a smile on anyone's face.
